Generation Q is going to print. And to Market. Getting a project this large off the ground and in mailboxes takes some doing. And a bit of cold hard cash. They've chosen Kickstarter, a crowd funding platform, to raise the money necessary to get the magazine off the press and into the hands of readers.
If you want to be part of this exciting venture, click here for Generation Q's project page. As you'll see, the minimum pledge is $1 but higher pledges come with "rewards". Kickstarter is an all or nothing deal. If the entire amount is not raised, you will not be charged for the amount of your pledge. If they reach the goal, or go over, not only is the magazine off and running, but you'll be reaping some benefits too.
The industry needs a variety of voices. Generation Q promises to be an upbeat, humorous alternative for the modern, non-traditional quilter, crafter and sewist. So come join in the fun and be there when it takes off on its first fanciful flight.
Sounds great!! I wonder how easily I could get it in Australia? Kick starter is a great idea!
ReplyDeleteLooks like I better go make a pledge!
ReplyDeleteI'm back and already have ordered a few new quilt books - now this, I read their kickstart thing. $20,000 is not really that much. I think they will reach their goal - I think Kickstart is a great way to go about it. Good on you for getting the word out. Carolina
