Copycat Fever

It's happened again.  I've been drawn in by Pam's enthusiasm.  Have you seen her darling Granny Square Blocks? I've been holding out against the hugely popular quilty pastime. Until today.
You see, there were a few little Crazy Love scraps sitting there and I just had to do something with them. I tried to resist. After all, these are little bitty squares.  (The entire block measures 4 3/4"--not the scale I usually work with.)  In the end, however, I succumbed to a mild case of copycat fever.
Jolene of Blue Elephant Stitches blog started it all with her tutorial, which you can find here. Her block calls for 2 1/2" squares to form the block.  Pam used 1 1/2" pieces, as did I. If you want to an overload of cuteness, you can find a treasure trove of Grannies on Flickr.  Just click here.

  5. Perfect fabric for a spring time mood. Lovely block. I can see it with a single lazy daisy embroidered on the white and then framed and hung on the wall. This is from a person who has a whole cupboard full of fat quarters and no time to sew. Maybe I should stop dreaming of a quilt and just tackle one block. Your work is so inspiring!
