Rainy Days

The day is starting out quite gray here.  They're promising a sizable, quick moving storm by rush hour tonight. While rain is always welcome in theory here in dry Southern California, in practice it leads to all kinds of complaining, not to mention lunacy on the roadways. I have resolved to us this gray day, not for complaining or being lazy, but in spending time at the computer working on patterns and other equally boring things.
Besides, I'd have to straighten up the sewing area before I could get started sewing.  It's gotten to be quite a mess in the last week or so. This is just one tiny little corner on the cutting table. Really, it's just so much easier to park myself here at the computer and do the boring part of things.  Tomorrow is another day.  I'll clean up tomorrow.

  1. OOhh Loving those Sis Boom blocks!! I always wish little pixies would come and tidy my sewing room overnight. Still it can be fun folding fabrics, patting them and admiring them, coming up with more ideas that will lead to more messes.

  3. What amazes me about the sewing room mess is how it seems to have the ability to go from perfectly zen to total disaster in such a short time. I love working in a space that has no clutter. I often fantasize about having a double roomed studio with a short hallway between them. One space would be the zen space, the creative working room, the other, the anti-zen space, would be the space that would store all my stuff and myriad of stashes. I wonder which one I would get more done in? Or if it would make a difference? Carolina

  4. LOL!!! Tomorrow is always better for cleaning, isn't it? I still dearly love your quilt block. I am hoping to get in some much needed sewing therapy this weekend. On my list of things to try are the spider web blocks and this little granny square block, along with some paper piecing. I'm looking forward to trying all new things to see what 'floats my boat'. And maybe I'll get a nice, rainy day this weekend to accomplish a bit of my list. :o)

  5. I'm not a good clean up person. But that little pile looks fake. You're probably really tidy and trying to fit in with messy people. NICE TRY.
    Love your blocks!
