This Pine Burr quilt measures 63 inches by 73 inches, making these blocks about 12 1/2 inches square. All those folded pieces whirling around the center of each block is quite amazing. And the variety of fabrics, while hard to distinguish in the photograph, is extensive--plaid, florals, stripes, dots and solids make up the mix. This quilt seems to blend together from a distance but there are bright reds, blacks, greens and yellows that really pop when you get close.

What an amazing quilt!! I've just popped over to see all the work involved in making a block. It makes me curious about the weight of the quilt. I love the idea of all those different fabrics mixed up together, and you're right, it does all blend together.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! At first I thought I was looking at some paper/origami type of thing. I think that the colors used, most the same tonal value, some not, make it more successful than the one on the brochure. It makes me think of feathers. Unbelievable. Carolina
