No productivity here over the weekend--a summer cold is getting the best of me. The garden, however, is coming along nicely. If the sun ever comes out, we just might get some June tomatoes from the Czech Bush. We've enjoyed a couple of red oak lettuce salads, some green beans and plenty of basil. But it's the tomatoes we're really looking forward to.
Hot tea and a book are waiting. Have a good week!
Oh dear, summer cold. That's a pain. Get better soon. xo
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon! Enjoy your rest as much as you can!
ReplyDeleteI think reading books is productive so relax and look after yourself. Pesto with lots of basil and garlic is good for colds. We've got some winter tomatoes planted, it'll be interesting to see how they turn out. Your Czech Bush plant looks very promising.
ReplyDeleteThe tomato. or rather THE TOMATO... is that not the only true underlying reason for us doing all the work of gardening ourselves? In the past, when I lived on flatter land, we grew a small garden of the basics- salad fixings and herbs, mostly. It was THE TOMATOES, though, that garnered all the praise and compensated us in full for all of our efforts. As you work through your cold, they are busy, busy out there in your garden turning themselves into the food stuff of gods. When their presence finally grace your table, you will feel like a goddess yourself and your cold will be a distant memory. Hope you are already on the mend. Carolina
