Never a Dull Moment

A few plants in the landscape tell me that it really is March.  Nasturtiums pop up all along the front wall.  They're volunteers happily doing their spring thing.  The back yard plants often have leaves bigger than dessert plates.  I love their carefree attitude and the way they sometimes seem to want to take over the neighborhood.  When the hot weather arrives, they will die off and their large seeds will wait for next year when they can do it all over again.  For a few months I can admire them from the window.
And I can do that while I craft.  Which is exactly what happened this weekend.  On Friday I got some new toys.  Have you used this Extreme Glitter from Plaid?  It's awesome!  It comes in different colors and the glitter is quite fine--no gigantic glitter chunks.  It makes for great coverage and a balance appearance to your projects.  When you're working small, giant chunks are not going to do the job.

I applied one layer to the mini resin frame.  It gave it a very nice dusting of sparkles without overpowering the size of the frame.  A little fabric Mod Podged to the inside of the frame (just like I did here), a chipboard letter with some glitter glue on top and it was all done.
To one of the black frames I applied Extreme Glitter in Hologram.  Oh my!  The picture does not do it justice at all.  It is a fine blue-green glitter tone on top of the black.  Subtle but sparkly.  I like it a lot and will be looking for other things to paint.
All this crafty work has inspired me to try something else new-to-me--micro beads. Amy inspired me with this ring. It might get a bit messy around here but I'm willing to risk it.
