I wish I were doing more reading. It's been a dry spell lately when it comes to books. Nothing really clamoring for my attention. I'm looking forward to The Bayou Trilogy but it is not due until May.I have a stack of books in the To Be Read pile but they are strangely silent. Maybe the next trip to the book store I can find these intriguing books:
I don't know why the books stopped whispering. Maybe I have just been to occupied to hear them. It's certainly possible that the fabric is smothering them. Now there's a thought for consideration....
I feel exactly the same way, I have some thrifted books waiting to be read - still waiting! - but I am now re-reading Gossip from Thrush Green by Miss Read, and, as usual, simply loving every single word!
ReplyDeleteI too have a book on my wish list to read. It is called In Memory's Kitchen: A Legacy from the Women of Terezin by Cara De Silva. It is a "cookbook" of recipes compiled from memory of the women prisoners who lived in Terazin, a way station to Auschwitz. I think after commenting, here, I will order it for myself. Better yet, I will post a recipe as well. Thanks for the inspiration. Carolina
