Generally speaking, October means hot days and cool nights with occasional Santa Ana winds. Apparently, someone didn't get that memo. In fact it feels like they never got past April on the calendar this year--with the very few exceptions.
This week...rainy with dark gray skies. Accidents galore on the freeways. The smell of wood burning in a neighbor's fireplace. It's bizarre.
At least something is prospering in this dark and damp. These mushrooms have popped up in the yard since the weekend. I keep expecting to look out the window and see hundreds of fairy rings.
I think the middle picture is gorgeous! Makes me want to curl up with The Hobbit and read. Fungus Among Us, was that a book title? Or was it just a fun rhyming thing to say when we were kids?
ReplyDeleteMushrooms are mysterious and magical things. We had some red ones pop up in our garden and I kept expecting to see fairies sitting on them. They were too clever and hid everytime I was looking.
