Once again, I am subconsciously picking up themes from the garden. The fresh green and white combination in the alyssum is mimicked in the pillow cover made in West Indies prints. I have one more bit to add and then I can show you the finished project.
Mostly, I played with fabrics that provided the vibrancy I'm missing in the environment. Sis Boom scraps went together for a few more half square triangles for my Sis Boom Spiderweb quilt. I love the way unexpected print combinations are revealed. For instance, the red Sis Boom Basics stripe and the Matilda from the new West Indies collection make for a very dramatic pair. The sun is breaking through the marine layer as I type. Oh happy day! Enjoy the remainder of your weekend. May your day be sunny and bright.
We've had the same weather. You'd think we are at the beach! I guess 20 minutes away is close by some peoples standards!! Always love seeing what you're working on!
ReplyDeleteOh gray days! Say it isn't so! Blech! Well you could be baking here which as you know isn't THAT bad but drought is stinky. Can't grow pretty flowers or anything like that. Boo!
ReplyDeleteOkay that is one gorgeous West Indies project! I have a room that works well with it! =D
I am loving what you are doing with all the Sisboom scraps! I cannot wait to see what it all looks like in the end!
We've been lucky here, Spring seems to have arrived early, beautiful days!! Those greens of West Indies are just beautiful! I've been wondering how your spiderweb is going, it's working like a dream. What a wonderful Sis Boom Fix!!
ReplyDeleteIt is quite the concept ... looking to the colors in fabric to fill the color void when the weather has gone on a tear of one grey day after another. Maybe that is why romance novels and soap operas are still around - some aren't getting enough drama or romance in their lives. On the opposite side of it ... maybe city life is so hectic and noisy that people look for minimal color and minimal visual information in their apartments. I will be pondering this one, or rather defining my perspective on the topic, Melissa, for quite some time. All is fairly well on this end. Hope to catch up with you soon. Carolina
