Christmas Already?!

I'm in denial about Christmas this year.  Way too early to be thinking about Christmas!  But my sister has already asked what the plans are this year.  Apparently, it's only 14 weeks away.  Huh!

(By the way, did you know "huh" is actually in the dictionary and it's first recorded use was in 1608?)
Despite my denial, I've managed to produce a Christmas craft.  I've been trying, quite unsuccessfully, to get decent pictures of this one.  I've given up on that and you will have to be satisfied with these instead.  Hopefully you get the idea.  The Sparkle Mod Podge just didn't want to tone things down for the camera.  Definitely the Diva of the whole Mod Podge gang.
In any event, I purchased the wooden frame and cut out at Michael's last year.  I painted them both with a few coats of semi gloss paint.  I used matte Mod Podge to adhere the fabric (in this case, Sis Boom finery) to the interior of the frame.  When it was dry, I added a generous coat of Sparkle Mod Podge.  Then the cut out was glued down, beads were added around the frame and a piece of pink twill tape was attached to the sides for hanging using pretty tacks from Target.

And that's it!  If you can't find wooden frames with cut outs and don't want to make your own, you could recreate this with poster board and/or foam board, even craft foam sheets.  There are many free holiday clip art designs available online.  Coloring books are also great places to find simple shapes for tracing and cutting out.  In fact now that I think about it, craft foam sheets would be extremely quick and easy.   Easy enough to enlist young helpers.

Now, back to my Halloween crafts.  One holiday at a time.  That's my limit.
